How do you know if you are petite? SC vs SG

How do you know if you have a petite frame? I think this is one of the easiest things in Kibbe, its one of those things that you just instantly know. This is one of the only times that I am going to say to you that you can work this out by trying on clothes and seeing what works on you.

My friend Carys is a soft gamine and she needs to accommodate petite, whereas I’m a soft classic and I know that I don’t need to accommodate petite.

Petite has two factors: short bones and narrow bones. So I have the common concept of delicate bones, but I have longer bones. I am more in the middle.

Now, we are the same height but Carys’s bone structure is a lot more compact. So, when we were trying on dresses for this event, the second a dress was at mid length or longer it looked off. To accommodate petite we got an asymmetrical hem. This way the dress was still a formal length but was a lot shorter.

You can see how in a shorter length Carys still looks formal, whereas in a similar dress I need that extra elongation. When I try to accommodate petite that doesn’t exist I look like an overgrown child, even though im only 5’2’’.
